What is the Warm/ Hot Funnel?
There are people who are already familiar with your brand / offering in some way. Either because they’ve already visited your website, already like your FB page, have watched your videos, or made an enquiry / purchase already.
It is much easier to convince a ‘warm’ prospect to buy something than someone who has never heard of you before – especially if you’re in a saturated or competitive industry like coaching, marketing, fashion or fitness.
Some effective ‘warm’ funnel targeting options:
- Retarget anyone who has engaged with an ad or a post within the last 12 months (365 days)
- Retarget people who visited specific blog articles
- Retarget people whose email address you have obtained (legally, of course)
Some effective ‘hot’ funnel targeting options
- For e-commerce, retarget those who added to cart (ATC) but exclude those who purchased (see How to exclude people who purchased in this topic)
- Retarget old customers (if you’re a salon, get those paper consultation forms and digitise them – create audiences based on clients you haven’t seen for over 6 months)
