What is a lookalike audience?
A Lookalike Audience (often abbreviated to LLA) is a unique and effective feature of Facebook Advertising.
You provide Facebook with a “Seed audience” and you are asking Facebook to create an audience of people who most closely remember the people in the seed audience. We don’t know exactly what Facebook considers a similarity – but we assume it means age, gender, profile, interests and behaviours.
What is a Seed Audience?
A seed audience can be any Core or Custom Audience, or people whom Facebook has tracked against an Event (for example, Purchase events, Add to Cart events)
You need to create your Core / Custom audience first before selecting it as your seed audience.
What are the best type of Seed Audiences?
This strategy works particularly well when your seed audience is highly qualified – for example a custom audience of emails containing your existing customers, a custom audience created from successful checkout completions, those who have sent messages / submitted lead forms.
