Setting your objectives for outcomes of the campaign

Setting your strategic objectives is important – too many people just dive straight in there, create their ad, with little or no thought as to what exactly they want to achieve.

“I want to achieve more sales”

Well, yeah, that’s a given – but that is a really unclear and undefined strategy and it’s likely to result in your ad spend achieving the square root of bugger all!

Some examples of what your Objectives might be…

  • When they see my Ad I want them to watch 25/50/75% or more of my video, because this is a cold audience and I want to retarget them later

  • I want them to click and read my blog, because if they do this, I know they are potentially interested in my product and I can then retarget them later

  • I want them to leave a comment on my Ad so that I can use the ‘message’ function to inbox them and try and sell my product manually using live conversation

  • I’m trying to grow my page numbers so I have more credibility but I don’t want poor quality likes – I want them to like my ad, so that I can invite them to like my page
