Compliance (don’t get banned!)
Complying with Facebook’s Advertising Policies is essential for advertising – I strongly advise against starting to run ads without having a good read through them.
You can find them HERE
The vast majority of the policies are pretty obvious – don’t sell drugs…. guns… etc.
But some are less obvious and many wannabe-advertisers fail to read the Policy and spend many hours in groups, asking why their ad has been rejected. Much to the frustration of other advertisers!
“If you’re thinking of selling your kidney’s with Facebook Ads, don’t bother…”
Policy | What it means |
---|---|
Prohibited Content | Stuff that simply isn’t allowed! No work around, you cannot promote it. |
Restricted Content | It is allowed, but you must obtain permission from Facebook and/or adhere to additional guidelines that you must satisfy |
Special Ad Categories | Employment, Housing and Credit opportunities (credit cards etc) can be promoted but there are limitations on who you can target and you must tick a box to say ‘this is a Special Ad category’ |
